Remember meta tags? You know, those keywords we used to put on top of our pages so that search engines will be able to pick up our sites and include them in their search results? Yeah, those. We overused those things for search engine optimisation back in the good old days, haven’t we? It’s pretty much a long time since meta tags have been relevant, and I’d be hard-pressed to find at least one search engine still using meta tags to influence their search results.

Even though most meta tags have been deprecated, the meta description tag still matters. They’re not a major factor for search engines when ranking websites, but they do act as an advertisement of sorts that increases the likelihood of clicks from search engine results pages back to your site. If you’re lucky, a keyword in your meta descriptions can also lead visitors to your site.

These are things you have to take into consideration when making meta descriptions for your site:

The meta description should describe the content of your site accurately, but in 160 characters or less.
Meta descriptions are going to be the first thing people will see from your site in search engine results, meta descriptions are like advertisements to lure people into clicking into your site
Meta descriptions can also display targeted keywords to indicate content to searchers.

You must take into account the fact that you have to be honest in making your meta descriptions. You don’t want to piss off your visitors, and have them swear off your website forever. And don’t forget to make sure your meta descriptions don’t go beyond 160 characters too.

Meta descriptions are a great way to enhance your search engine optimisation efforts, and do take advantage of them to boost your traffic and search engine hits.

Internet blog marketing is still very easy to do. The sooner you get started with it, the better. It’s dynamic. Things are always not the same not just with the tools and techniques that are being used in the trade, but also with the search engines. For example, Google changes four times in a year and you will often find that they update their search rankings. So if you are consistently on the number two spot for the last three months, do not be surprised that you will now be found on page three. All in all, internet blog marketing means knowing how to promote and be familiar with the internet.

While correcting grammatical errors is indeed one of the things proofreaders do, a good paper proofreader does more than that.

Some of the things that proofreaders do include:

•	checking your paper for common mistakes – This includes errors in spelling, vocabulary, sentence construction, punctuations, and grammar. Mistakes in these areas are very common because they are easy to overlook, which is why even the best writers still need a paper proofreader to check their work.
•	checking for any factual inaccuracies – The last thing you need is to submit or publish something inaccurate. Good proofreaders will help you spot any inaccuracies so that you can make the necessary changes.
•	making sure that you are consistent in your arguments – While your basic facts might be correct, some of your arguments might be contradictory. Having a third party examine your work will help you spot these contradictions as well as other points that might weaken your argument, or simply be unnecessary.
•	ensuring smooth transitions between paragraphs – If you want to communicate your ideas effectively, you need to have smooth transition from paragraph to paragraph. If not you will end up presenting your ideas in a stilted manner that will not only be confusing, but also appear unprofessional. Proofreaders usually solve the problem by simply inserting intro sentences in paragraphs that need it, or changing the order with which paragraphs appear.

There is still a lot of work that has to be done for this to become reality for being open-sourced
it is a headache to standardize. But Google has confirmed that it is no longer a rumor and it is considered to be one of the company’s primary goals this year.

Their browser version of Chrome has been out for a while and it has had it’s fair share of bugs, versions and fixes but it is steadily making it’s way. The fact is that Google has managed to do away with most of the overhead that takes space and time for Windows to load streamlining the system for optimal performance. The OS would be coming out soon, though Google is keeping it quiet on when and how it would be released.

I maintain a blog site as a part-time job, and having a 2 kids in the house has made me a little more aware of the dangers lurking in the shadows of cyberspace. The internet has been a powerful tool not just for data processing and storage, but for global communication as well. Millions of text data and images are being posted online everyday. So how does one filter the good from the bad at home?

There are many applications that can help you block pornographic from being displayed on your computer They use distinctive filter methods that analyze whether a URL is safe for viewing or not. However, it may not be so easy to filter images as it is URLs. There are porn sites that allow for the user to type in their emails so pictures can be sent to the address directly, without having to go through their site. This can pose some serious problems for my kids. Good thing there are some pornographic image filters that can analyze images as they are being downloaded, and identify those that are unwanted. The technology can analyze different physical aspects of the images like skin tone, contour, hues, etc. This can act as a reliable personal web nanny, to help block porn images. It is said to be 85%-90% accurate, which is relatively high.

Now I can rest peacefully at night while my laptop is still turned on. I don’t have to worry about my kids sneaking around and having a peak at unsightly images. All they will probably find is the link to the Australia business directory that I have left opened. Having kid-friendly internet access is an effective way to keeping my family porn-free.

Weblog, better known as “blog”, is a website where people can jot down or make lengthy notes of the annals different facets in their lives. I have personally used blogs as a journal of my successes and heartbreaks. Yes, blogs can be your own personal therapist. However, nowadays blogs are used for more diverse reasons like reporting and commenting on current (and significant) events, networking and marketing, promoting a business, and the like.

With the advent of more web tools like pingbacks and trackbacks, feed functions and permalinks, blogging influence has become more solid in daily endeavors. I remember a time when the power of text messaging helped oust a corrupt president in our country. This principle now applies to global dimensions. Vital information is readily available for anyone with access to the internet. This privilege, however, comes not without a price. As much as we can all be positively influenced by a heavy-weight blog that encourages worldwide change, we can equally be sucked into a black propaganda to bring down people in authority for political reasons. One thing I learned as a blogger: If I can write whatever the heck I want, so can anybody else.

One thing we can do to avoid fraudulent information is to always check the source. Knowing where the
data comes from can be a tedious process, even to the point of investigating domain names. However, it will be all worth it when you want to continue reading and catch up on the latest updates.

Even though most see the job of a freelance web designer as something extra, an auxiliary source of income to complement your regular earnings, some are still able to make their entire living out of such jobs and progress well enough in the market to establish them as a near-permanent source of income. Is this the right choice for you though? You may be convinced it is, but the reality could actually be slightly off.

There are a few things to keep in mind when considering taking up a “career” as a freelance web designer for good. First, remember that you’ll be working from your home entirely. This may sound like a good thing at first, but it can easily backfire if you’re not careful – home is usually the place most of us associate with relaxation and getting away from all the stress, so it’s easy to get distracted on your own desk.

Second, working as a freelance web designer means your income won’t be guaranteed. Both legally, as well as in general – you can’t rely on having the same paycheck next month, and you can’t prove you got that paycheck either, so it can become very difficult to take out a loan or mortgage, unless you started reporting your income – which would make it eligible for taxes, of course.

On the other hand, it can definitely be great and very rewarding to be a freelance web designer – you just need the right sense of balance and self-control. You never know, it may turn out to be your dream job!

Internet Blog Marketing means using the internet to market products or services on your blog. That would be the simplest explanation to it.

Today, marketing in the internet is not as easy as before. There is a lot of competition and everyone wants to be a part of the pay per click programs. In order to become successful at this, you need to choose you own market. Be unique. Do not use a single blog to market a lot of things online unless they are relevant. Choosing your market is a little difficult. Some will tell you to follow your passion and chose something that you know and love.
