Social Web Into the Clouds
Many of the Web Giants are gearing for the introduction and expected full implementation of cloud computing that is set to become web 3.0. Industry giants like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, IBM and many other have been gearing for the big push but a recent move by Facebook, one of the social web’s biggest networks has raised a lot of alarms as to the ownership of the cloud.
Google and many other industry giants have huge data centers that allows them to continue serving the millions of users, upgrading as necessary to keep up with the rapid changes of the web. Videos and Pictures are eating up a lot of bandwidth and resources in data centers which may have prompted the move by Facebook but user reaction and the tsunami of criticism they got forced them to retract their position. There is really an issue with such information for though they may be in cyberspace, the need for proper policing and management is a great concern. The promise of the social web was realized when Facebook made public their stand where the users had the last say indeed
