Blog Brigade

Weblog, better known as “blog”, is a website where people can jot down or make lengthy notes of the annals different facets in their lives. I have personally used blogs as a journal of my successes and heartbreaks. Yes, blogs can be your own personal therapist. However, nowadays blogs are used for more diverse reasons like reporting and commenting on current (and significant) events, networking and marketing, promoting a business, and the like.

With the advent of more web tools like pingbacks and trackbacks, feed functions and permalinks, blogging influence has become more solid in daily endeavors. I remember a time when the power of text messaging helped oust a corrupt president in our country. This principle now applies to global dimensions. Vital information is readily available for anyone with access to the internet. This privilege, however, comes not without a price. As much as we can all be positively influenced by a heavy-weight blog that encourages worldwide change, we can equally be sucked into a black propaganda to bring down people in authority for political reasons. One thing I learned as a blogger: If I can write whatever the heck I want, so can anybody else.

One thing we can do to avoid fraudulent information is to always check the source. Knowing where the
data comes from can be a tedious process, even to the point of investigating domain names. However, it will be all worth it when you want to continue reading and catch up on the latest updates.
